HOW IS LIVING IN VIENNA? CAN YOU GIVE US SOME INSIDER TIPS AS TO WHERE TO HAVE A GOOD MEAL IN NICE SURROUNDINGS?
Living in Vienna is great: it is easy, well organized and quiet on the whole. You can have a tasty meal on the “Naschmarkt”, Vienna’s oldest market. There is a huge variety of places serving food from Austrian to Asian cuisine all cooking with fresh ingredients and at reasonable prices. My particular favorite is Li’s cooking. For a traditional but excellent meal I recommend the “Plachutta” restaurant which serves real Austrian cuisine at very high standard. It is a little pricy but worth the visit. Apart from that its of course essential to visit some the more traditional patisseries in Vienna, such as “Gerstner Konditorei”, “Oberlaa Konditorei” and “Heiner Konditorei” for a delicious cake and coffee.

SOME THINGS WORTH SEEING IN VIENNA? OR YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITE PLACE?
There are so many things to see in Vienna if you are interested in history, art and culture. My personal favorite amongst the many galleries is the “Albertina”.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN IN VIENNA (CLUBS, PUBS, AREAS OF THE CITY)?
Depending on what kind of music you are interest in there are many places to go. One of the most popular clubs at the moment is the “Palais Palffy” located in an old Palais in the centre of town. There is also a brand new dinner jazz club that’s opened recently called the “Albertina Passage”. A popular bar/ club is “Manolos”, which is fun if you’re into Latin music. You can find several fun bars and pubs all over the city some of the best are located on the “Naschmarkt” and the Museumsquartier.

BEAUTIFUL SPOTS IN OR OUTSIDE VIENNA?
It is well worth visiting the „Kahlenberg” for a lunch and a lovely view of the city. In addition to that a visit to the little spa town of Baden only about 30 minutes from Vienna will certainly give you a nice treat and relax your senses.

WHICH MONUMENTS ARE A MUST-SEE?
The must-see monuments are: the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Votiv Church, Hofburg, Schönbrunn palace, Belvedere palace, Hundertwasser house, Museumsquartier, Kohlmarkt, and the opera house.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT VIENNA AND WHY?
It is always a good time to come to Vienna. There are constantly exhibitions, festivals and concerts to be seen. However, two of my favorites seasons are the Christmas period and the summer. During the Christmas period you have the possibility to visit a huge number of different Christmas markets, enjoy mulled wine. Vienna is famous for its amazing Christmas lighting which is a tour in itself. You can also enjoy some of the street festivals during winter time as well as take advantage of the great array of shops in the city. The summer is also a great time to come to Vienna, with so many outdoor festivals happening, you have a large program to choose from. My particular favorite is the film festival at the town hall where a different concert is screened every night and you can choose from a large selection of food and drink stands. Also there are many places to go swimming in Vienna including the Danube river. The summer is also the best time to visit the traditional old restaurants called “Heurigen” in the Vienna woods to enjoy a glass of young wine a traditional hearty meal.
